Photograms, 2003
Lamda print, size and edition to be confirmed. Signed and dated by the artist.
Signed and dated by the artist. This photogram was made whilst I was a student at Central Saint Martin's. The works were made in the school's darkrooms in the presence of the darkroom assistant, the photography tutor and fellow students. I am proud to say I was awarded a pass. Though my certificate shows no grade and simply says I have "been awarded the Postgraduate Certificate having followed an approved programme of study". I also found a letter with the certificate I do not recall receiving. The letter says "the board is recommending I receive a pass and this is subject to ratification by the Academic Board of The London Institute.” Then it says "Your attention has been drawn to the course regulations previously given to you in the course handbook." I'm baffled and bemused especially as my tutors were encouraging me to do a Masters in Photography and because usually you only receive a certificate with no grade if you have not submitted any coursework or if you have not attended classes, neither was applicable to me.
None of the works from this series have been printed.
